Ah! That was a good morning.

This morning we had a play date with Liam, Mindi's second son who is AWESOME. Mindi was my bff in middle school and is simply an amazing mom. Liam is such a happy little guy who loves to get his move on! He and Casey are just three months apart so they were perfect little play dates and we hope to have many more play dates with lovely little Liam.

Meeting Mitchell

Today Casey got to meet Mitchell Henry Zhu. I work with his mom Tiffany. We all met him at Char's house, where Casey was in Ping Pong Heaven. Char's son Mason was a natural with Casey. We had so much fun!

Summer was a little upset because Casey forgot her corsage at home. Other than that, they had a great time together at Prom 2011!

We had some family and friends visit this week. They don't get out much so we were so glad they were able to make it out to sunny California.

Tunnel Time

My dear friend Donna has an amazing goal. To do one new thing every day with her little ones before her maternity leave is up. She has motivated me to do as much as I can with Casey before summer ends. This past week I have been making a more conscious effort to do more new things with my little man. Today, I discovered that sometimes being at home and being creative can be the most fun! Today Casey and I created a pillow tunnel in the hallway. Little did I know this would provide over an hour of entertainment for everyone involved. Even the dogs got into it! That is, until fat Gilbert came and knocked it over. Just kidding Gilbert, you're not fat, just big boned.

The Okay Park

Today we convinced Papa J to take a "long lunch" from work to go The Great Park (which Jason and I now refer to as The Okay Park). We went with visions of riding the Great Park Balloon which floats high up in the air, where apparently you can see all of the beautiful city we live in. Upon arrival we discovered that we were too late to sign up for balloon rides because they were booked two hours before we had gotten there. Luckily, the carousel rides were still open so we made lemonade out of lemons and hopped on for a ride. This was Casey's 3rd time riding a carousel. The first time was at the mall with Summer on their prom date. The second time was at the OC Fair, which doesn't really count because a Carny put that sucker on high speed, blasted rap music and both Casey and I were holding on for dear life while saying our Hail Marys. So, The Okay Park Carousel was a nice, relaxing ride for all of us. So relaxing that we rode twice. Afterwards we went over to the little park area where Casey found a tunnel with snakes. He played a little bit but the ground was too hot so we decided to head back to the car. On the way back, a van full of Jason's buddies showed up to party but he told them he had to get back to work. As we were driving away from The Okay Park we decided that we needed a little "pick-me-up" after our failed mission so we went out and bought Casey and his baba a new stroller! Woo hoo! Now, mission is complete! But don't worry, we'll be going back to the Okay Park someday soon for redemption.
